Berjaya Auto Philippines CEO Steven Tan

The all-new, third-generation Mazda 3 will be launched in the country in May by local distributor Berjaya Auto Philippines, company CEO Steven Tan told Both hatchback and sedan versions will be introduced simultaneously. All units will be sourced from Japan.

Because the model is very new, Mazda is still trying to meet high global demand. Hence, according to Tan, the all-new Mazda 3's allocation for the Philippine market for 2014 will be limited to "a minimum of 800 units and a maximum of 1,000 units."

Asked what the percentage of those figures will be hatchbacks or sedans, Tan said it would be flexible and that it would depend on customer demand. He did concede, however, that he is expecting Mazda 3 sales to be "65% sedan and 35% hatchback," as the Philippines is still a sedan market.

So, if you really want the new Mazda 3, we suppose you should be reserving a unit as early as now. And if you are getting one, which version do you prefer? Take our poll at the bottom.
