Last year, Astara made waves across the market with its two brands Peugeot and GAC. This year, it’s looking to make even more noise with two new brands added to its portfolio. First is JMC, which was announced back in November 2023, and the second being JAC, which has just been confirmed earlier today.
Astara announced its latest appointment as the exclusive importer of JAC cars and pickups in the Philippines. With this new venture, Astara aims to introduce new electric models under the JAC brand, including full EVs and plug-in hybrids.

"We’re excited to include JAC in our global portfolio and exclusively distribute the brand in the Philippines,” said Astara CEO Jorge Navea. “As a top brand with a presence in over 100 countries, JAC’s commitment to quality and focus on electrification perfectly align with Astara’s vision for the future of mobility. Considering this region is pivotal to our international expansion, we are confident in showcasing our capabilities through JAC’s distribution.”
“For JAC, the Philippines is of extraordinary strategic and practical significance,” said JAC Motors vice president David Zhang. “In the future, JAC will strictly adhere to the "user-centric" business philosophy and bolster the relationship with Astara to provide better products and better service experience for Filipino users.”
Exciting stuff ahead. 2024 is already shaping up to be quite the busy year for the automotive industry.
