In the world of football (or soccer, if you’re that kind), brand partnerships with football clubs are a big thing. Every now and then, automotive brands make an appearance, like Chevrolet did a while back for Manchester United.
Interestingly, it’s United’s archrival Manchester City that’s now inked a partnership with a carmaker, and it’s one that we’re very familiar with: BYD. What might be unfamiliar to most of you is Manchester City—it’s one of the biggest clubs not just in England but across the globe.

As the official automotive partner of Manchester City, BYD will be supplying both BYD and Denza cars—the latter of which has just landed in the Philippines—to the team. One of its cars will also lead the bus of the men’s first team into the stadium for home fixtures. On top of these, BYD’s branding will also now be seen on the training-kit sleeve of the men’s first team, and from the next season, the women’s first team. If you tune into City’s fixtures, you’ll also start seeing BYD’s logos on the headrests in the dugout.

The BYD Group will also install vehicle charging stations and energy-storage batteries at the City Football Academy, a training and development facility for the club’s men’s, women’s, and academy teams.
