Kia Philippines is currently holding price reductions on select variants of the diesel Carnival and the hybrid Sorento. So, while we wait for the all-new fully electric EV5 to make its local debut, buyers have more familiar—and now, discounted—options to choose from.
The diesel-powered Carnival SX can be driven home with a P370,000 discount. Positioned as the highest spec of the non-hybrid Carnival, it is fitted with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel that puts out 200hp and 440Nm of torque on tap. During our time with the minivan, it returned around 11.6km/L in mixed driving conditions.
Also included in the promotion is the Sorento Turbo Hybrid SUV, with up to P200,000 in savings. Kia offers the Sorento in three flavors, and we’ve reviewed the base EX 4x2 and the top-of-the-line SX AWD. All variants use the same 1.6-liter turbo-gasoline hybrid in-line-four powertrain thatdelivers 232hp and 367Nm of torque. In terms of fuel economy, we’ve experienced averages of 14-15km/L.

Interestingly, the vehicles in the promotion are all seven-seater people movers, with an emphasis on fuel efficiency. As mentioned, the Carnival is offered with electrified options, while the latest-generation Sorento only comes in hybrid configurations.
While the Korean carmaker has been focusing on its electrified vehicles, it hasn’t forgotten about its combustion-engine’d nameplates. The subcompact Sonet received a new K-Style variant in 2025, and the bigger Seltos crossover received a complete facelift shortly after.
