BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility, the official distributor of BYD passenger vehicles in the country, have just announced that they sold 4,780 BYD passenger vehicles, commanding an 82% share in the Philippine electrified vehicle market for 2024.

The BYD Seagull, Dolphin, Atto 3, T3, Seal, Han, and Tang comprised 2,078 of this sales figure. With a 69% market share in the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) segment, BYD leads the country in BEVs sold in 2024. The popular BYD Sealion 6 DM-i sold 2,669 units in 2024, making it the brand’s bestseller.

The remarkable sales of its vehicle offerings propelled BYD’s overall growth by 8,900% in 2024 compared to 2023 sales. This is an astounding figure, and this kind of growth will be challenging to sustain. The 4,780 units sold puts BYD as the 11th best-selling automotive brand in the Philippines with a 1.0% market share. This put BYD right behind Kia, another brand handles by ACMobility, and ahead of Foton Motor Philippines.

Mirroring its local success, BYD also set another global sales record in 2024. Last year, BYD sold 4,272,145 NEVs globally, up 41.26% from 2023. This milestone is the first time BYD has sold more than four million units in one year.

“We are beyond thrilled to share our performance in 2024, marking a pivotal year for BYD in the Philippines,” said Bob Palanca, managing director of BYD Cars
Philippines. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our team, the unwavering support of our dealer partners and suppliers, and most importantly, the trust of our valued customers. Together, we will continue driving the Philippines toward a smarter and greener future with innovative and accessible solutions.”

“Together with ACMobility, we are committed to providing more Filipinos with
BYD’s global models that represent greener and smarter mobility solutions as we
continue to build on this success in 2025 and beyond. We are focused on
sustaining this momentum by delivering innovative and affordable models for our
Filipino customers,” said Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines.

BYD’s growth can also be attributed to its growing dealer network. At the start of 2024, BYD had only two dealerships. Last year, it closed with 25 operational dealerships in various locations nationwide. For 2025, BYD Cars Philippines has already green-lit 52 dealer locations to bring BYD electric vehicles and services to more Philippine locations this year.

Now we know why we’re seeing more and more BYDs on the road.
