We just came off the launch of the all-new Ferrari 12Cilindri, and what an event it was. If anything, the car itself is the event, and anything opportunity to get close to a prancing horse is an occasion, indeed.

The arrival of the flagship grand tourer means even more options for wealthy punters out there who’d like a slice of Maranello on their driveway. Oh, and did we mention one can buy it as a coupe or as an open-top Spider? It can be yours for about P43 million…base.

And we reckon the 12Cilindri will help Ferrari Philippines reach even greater heights in 2025. After all, 2024 was a solid year for its distributor, Velocita Motors Inc (VMI). Japheth Castillo, the general manager of VMI, took time during the 12Cilindri launch to give us attendees the state of Ferrari in the country.

Last year, the company shifted 16 units in the Philippines. Okay, it won’t give Toyota, Mitsubishi, or any of the mass market brands any sleepless nights, but this is Ferrari we’re talking about. For a lineup whose ‘entry-level’ model starts at nearly P30 million (the Roma, in case you’re wondering), it’s an astonishing number.

Castillo added that there’s more to come in 2025 and that, so far, VMI is off to a strong start. There are a couple of completed deliveries as of February, one of which includes Angie King’s unique Viola Hong Kong Purosangue. You can read more about it by clicking on these blue words.

As for its plans, VMI will be launching four new models this year. Of course, the company didn’t say what’s coming, but we have a couple of guesses.

Our first prediction? It might be the Speciale version of the already potent 296 GTB. It hasn’t been launched globally yet, but you can count on VMI on bringing it over here. Another would be the successor of the SF90 Stradale that wrapped up production last year. The third might be Ferrari’s first-ever pure electric vehicle that could make its world premiere by October.

Ferrari F80 at Universo Ferrari Bangkok (2024)

We’re saving our best prediction for last. We first saw it during the Universo Ferrari event in Bangkok last year, and it was a sight to behold. We are, of course, talking about the F80. Production of this hypercar will commence this year, and we’re (almost) certain that Ferrari has invited its elite customers to buy it. Only 799 units will be made, each one made bespoke for its future owners. Now that, we’d like to see in person…again.
