It hasn’t even been a year yet since Geely was officially relaunched by Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), but it seems the carmaker is already making a name for itself in the local automotive industry.
That’s because Geely has made a lot of noise as of late, both with its COVID-19 relief efforts and the launch of its newest SUV, the Azkarra. And now, the Chinese marque makes headlines once again as it reveals its new brand ambassadors: OPM legend Rico Blanco and TV host and former Ateneo Blue Eagle Gretchen Ho.
In a recent press release from SGAP, Blanco and Ho expressed their excitement with the new partnership and both are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Geely in the Philippines.
“I’m really proud to be an ambassador for this new brand because I believe in this future,” said Blanco. “I’m excited. You know the bragging rights. I was there first and I knew the brand first. I was one of the first persons who trusted the brand… and with [Sojitz’s] experience in the Philippines, I’m just excited and I’m happy to be part of this.”
“I can’t wait to spread the word about it. And just like Rico, I go for the new things. I go for something different and unconventional… striking. I think that Geely has a promising future here in the Philippines,” said Ho. “I’m a woman in action. To be honest, I can’t wait to convince people to buy cars. I’m excited to take it around. I’ve been planning already where to go.”
