Attention, gamers: A new Hot Wheels video game is set to drop later this year. We know a lot of you are bummed that Gran Turismo 7 won’t be available until 2022, so hopefully, this’ll help raise your spirits to start the week.
The trailer for the upcoming Hot Wheels Unleashed has just been revealed, and the new game does look promising. Toy manufacturer Mattel teamed up with Italian game developer Milestone to come up with this one. First things first, you should watch the brief clip below:
Looks pretty cool, doesn’t it? The game will feature “the coolest, fastest, and most legendary vehicles” in the Hot Wheels universe along with a wide range of playable tracks. It will also supposedly offer “detailed and interactive environments” off the track, but details are scarce since the ‘Environments’ section of the official game website is still inaccessible as of this writing.
Hot Wheels Unleashed will also feature a custom track builder where players can mix special track pieces and items, and these built tracks can also be shared among players online.
As for game modes, online multiplayer races will be enabled. A split-screen mode will also be available for some friendly offline competitions with you and your friends.
The game will be available on multiple platforms, namely: PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Unfortunately, no word yet if cross-platform or cross-generation play will be possible.
You can secure a copy of the game as early as now, as preorders have now been opened seven months prior to the full release on September 30. Here’s hoping that the launch date won’t be pushed back to next year, too, though. Will you be checking this new game out, readers?
