If you don't know it yet, the car culture among college students is pretty dynamic. These kids seem to know what they're doing. Their taste in automobiles may be too youthful for some, but we can't deny their passion for motoring is impressive.
Take, for instance, the mechanical engineers of De La Salle University, who are not content just driving cool rides to the campus. They also want to stage their own motor show, if you can believe that. And they're in fact holding the "Automized: Ignition" event tomorrow (March 5) at Megatent in Libis, starting at 1pm.
A highlight of the event--which, alone, should be worth the P100 entrance fee--is the gymkhana exhibition. Needless to say, there will be the usual mix of car clubs and tuned cars vying for various awards, including:
* Best of Show
* Best Car Club Quality
* Best Car Club Quantity
If you happen to be a student of DLSU Manila or DLSU Science and Technology Complex in Santa Rosa, you can get in for free just by presenting your school ID. How cool is that?
Here's the best part: Going to the show need not be difficult, even if you don't want to bring a car due to parking concerns. You may use the event's Uber promo code: uberXautomizedue. It's that easy.
More? The organizers are giving away three shotgun rides in the gymkhana practice to three visitors who will arrive via Uber. All they have to do is present any proof of the Uber ride at the registration area.
So...see you there?
