2014 Isuzu D-Max 4x4 Drive Series

Some folks dig off-road vehicles and 4x4 driving more than city-bound passenger cars. If you're among these outdoorsy individuals, chances are you enjoy watching off-road driving demonstrations, too. Good for you: Isuzu Philippines Corporation is holding a five-round 4x4 driving tour this year called the "Isuzu D-Max 4x4 Drive Series," beginning with the opening leg in Pampanga on April 25-27.

This will be the third time that IPC is mounting such an event. The company first staged a similar three-leg campaign in 2008, followed by another one in 2010 with four rounds. Isuzu hopes to show the surging popularity of pickup trucks in the country, as well as the Filipino pickup owner's evolving off-road driving skills.

The five rounds of the Isuzu D-Max 4x4 Drive Series this year are:

* April 25-27: Pampanga (Eastgate Center, Barangay San Jose, San Fernando City);

* May 9-11: Cebu (Ouano Avenue corner W.O. Seno Street, Mantuyong, Mandaue);

* May 23-25: Bacolod (Rizal Street corner Simplicio Palanca Avenue, Pope John Paul Memorial Tower);

* June 6-8: Cagayan de Oro (Pueblo Business Park, Pacific Street, Cagayan de Oro City);

* June 20-22: Davao (Dakudao Estate, Kilometer 6, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Lanang, Davao City)

The Pampanga leg will start at 10am and will close at 6pm. The good news is that admission is free.

According to IPC, "the series-opening leg in Pampanga will tackle a track that features numerous slopes and hills to climb up and descend from, demonstrating the D-Max’s power and traction. Other obstacles and trails will also highlight the capability of the pickup's limited slip differential and the suspension system's articulation over varying surfaces, heights and angles."

"There is no doubt about the appeal that off-road driving holds over Filipino consumers, as can be seen in the consistent rise of the 4x4 pickup segment in the local market," IPC president Nobuo Izumina said. "Over the years, the performance of the 4x4 D-Max has contributed to this popularity, and the all-new model will certainly push the growth to new heights. I invite one and all to experience the D-Max's durability and unparalleled prowess over tough terrain via the 2014 Isuzu D-Max 4x4 Drive Series."
