Philippine-market Subaru units are not affected by the vehicle recall issued for hybrid models in North America, official distributor Motor Image Pilipinas has announced.

In the US, the recall affects more than 71,000 units of the hybrid Subaru Forester and Crosstrek. These vehicles are equipped with a specialized sealed fuel system to comply with North American environmental regulations. According to Subaru Corporation, the said component is not used in vehicles distributed by Motor Image Group.
