In a recent announcement, Suzuki Philippines shared that expansions have been made to the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) facilities at its Laguna plant. Every vehicle that Suzuki sells to Filipino motorists goes through these facilities before they reach dealers, as part of the automaker’s standard operating procedures.
The expansion added three PDI lanes, each equipped with a dedicated inspection pit that allows for thorough underbody inspection. The expansion also introduced new facilities to the plant, such as two new accessory installation lanes, a body repair and painting bay, a technical repair facility, and supporting offices and warehouses.

The expansion was completed in December of last year. Suzuki Philippines President Koichiro Hirao describes the expansion as a “strategic investment in infrastucture and processes”, enabling Suzuki to “ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability”.

For Suzuki customers, this expansion is added peace of mind that vehicles delivered to them are in optimal condition. Suzuki dealers, on the other hand, will benefit from faster processing, better inventory flow, and more reliable vehicle stock allocation.

Suzuki is already in the process of planning out further upgrades, such as a dedicated paint booth, bird deterrent systems, and solar power installation. The automaker has also stated that the facility is equipped to handle all of their current and upcoming models—including electric vehicles.
In terms of hybrid offerings, Suzuki has a fair number in its stable. The Dzire, Ertiga, XL7, and Fronx are all either hybrid-only or hybrid in certain trims. But could that last statement hint that the Suzuki e-Vitara is coming sooner rather than later? There’s never been a better time.
