If you're the leading car manufacturer in the country, a one-make race series promoting your best-selling vehicle (Vios), and the launch of two other popular models (face-lifted Innova and Corolla Altis) are simply not enough. Last night, Toyota Motor Philippines formally introduced in Cebu City its third new offering in a span of just a month: the Wigo, which is now officially on sale all over the country as you read this.
Last night's unveiling at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug was attended by TMP president Michinobu Sugata, Daihatsu Motor chief engineer Nobuhiko Ono, TMP senior vice president Ariel Arias, TMP senior executive vice president David Go, and TMP first vice president Jose Maria Atienza.
TMP expects to sell 500 units of the mini hatchback every month. This sales target is similar to that which Sugata proclaimed for the Corolla Altis back in December.
Three variants of the Wigo are available from P448,000 to P534,000. (Read: Official specifications and features of Toyota Wigo.)
In case you're wondering why the Wigo was unveiled in the Queen City of the South, it's because it coincided with TMP's dealership convention, Triple Crown celebration and incentive trip for top car sellers.
