VinFast currently enjoys the distinction of being the best-selling car brand in the Vietnamese market, holding a significant lead over all other competitors. As a testament to the brand’s dominance, the VinFast Hai Phong Automotive Manufacturing Complex officially rolled out its 200,000th electric vehicle at the end of 2025, following an increase in production capacity.

The 200,000-unit output at Hai Phong last year includes vehicles for the Vietnamese domestic market as well as exports to international markets. VinFast also operationalized three other manufacturing facilities last year, located in Ha Tinh (Vietnam), Tamil Nadu (India), and West Java (Indonesia).

The milestone unit that rolled off the Hai Phong assembly line was a VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seat pure electric MPV. This model set a sales record of 10,981 units in December 2025, contributing to the brand’s record-breaking sales figures in the history of the Vietnamese automotive industry.

To meet peak demand in December, Hai Phong’s capacity was increased to nearly 26,000 units. A record daily output was achieved on December 14, 2025, with 1,062 vehicles produced—roughly 43 per hour. According to VinFast, this production level is comparable to the world’s largest gigafactories, demonstrating the high level of production optimization at the plant. The facility boasts over 1,200 ABB robots, a workforce of more than 18,000 employees working in three flexible shifts, and an automation rate of up to 90%.

“The milestone of 200,000 EVs produced in 2025 at the Hai Phong plant alone is a testament to the intellect, capability, and tireless efforts of our 18,000 employees,” said Mr. Trinh Van Ngan, global deputy CEO of manufacturing at VinFast. “This is a significant and meaningful landmark that strengthens our confidence in conquering challenging future goals, proving the quality and stature of the Vietnamese automotive brand and its people to the world. With our manufacturing network expanding into key markets like India and Indonesia, I am confident that VinFast will achieve even more breakthrough, faster, and stronger growth in 2026 and beyond.”

In 2025, VinFast sold a total of 175,099 electric vehicles of all types in Vietnam, reinforcing its position as the country’s top car brand by market share for 15 consecutive months. Its vehicles now span and lead across all segments, from compact models for individuals and young families, to larger SUVs and ultra-luxury offerings, to models optimized for commercial and service use.
