As German carmaker Volkswagen carries out its expansion plans in the country by opening one dealership after another, one can't help but wonder which of its products sell well in our market. At the just-concluded Ayala Auto Fair, we took the opportunity to ask the general manager of a Volkswagen dealer about the brand's best-selling cars in the Philippines.
"The Touareg is selling pretty well, meeting our expectations," Iconic Dealership Inc.'s Tito Solomon revealed. But the bestsellers, the VW dealer boss said, are the Beetle and the Tiguan.
"Because the Beetle is an iconic vehicle, a lot of emotions are attached to it," Solomon shared. "It is admired by many--from the old folks to the young ones." He added that the most popular Beetle exterior colors among Filipino buyers are red and yellow.
