Last May, Mini revealed its John Cooper Works GP, saying that it is "the sportiest road-registered Mini ever made." To back up that claim, Mini had it run the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit where it set a time of eight minutes and 23 seconds, nearly 19 seconds faster than the Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper Works GP Kit and putting it within a second of the time set by a third-generation BMW M3.
After more than two months, Mini releases a video of that run, although it's only a short clip that's just over a minute long. Still, it's better than nothing.
