Secretary Vince Dizon of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has stressed that the EDSA Busway will remain operational throughout the EDSA rehabilitation project that could begin this month.
According to the official, the buses plying the route will continue to use segments of the busway that are not undergoing repairs or have already been completed. The buses will use EDSA’s regular lanes in areas affected by construction activities.

Meanwhile, an official of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on March 1 that the agency’s proposal to the DOTr is to fully close the bus lane during the first phase of the EDSA rehabilitation to prioritize its completion. She added that the EDSA Busway operations will continue, with the buses temporarily using other lanes on EDSA.

“Nagmi-meeting po kasi kami, inaayos lang namin yung traffic management with MMDA and also with DOTr,” Lorie Malaluan, NCR director of DPWH, explained in an interview with Dobol B TV.
Since the project’s target start date is March, the agencies are expected to decide on this soon. More as we have it.
