The Love Bus is now in Metro Cebu, with a new route that stretches from Talisay City-Anjo World to Cebu City. After previous pilot tests, the Love Bus now has a regular schedule that follows the new route every day, from 6am to 9am, and then from 5pm to 8pm.

The bus line continues to be free of charge, which, according to the Department of Transportation, saves commuters up to P60 per day. There are currently 11 operational buses with 44 operators between them. The entire line is expected to serve over 2,400 passengers a day.

Meanwhile, the pilot tests in Davao are expected to continue throughout the month of August. In a previous statement, the DOTr said that it aims to operationalize the Love Bus system nationwide before the end of the year. Since then, no comment has been made about the Love Bus reaching other cities.

This comes at a timely season for Cebuanos, as the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is expected to begin operations next month, in September. The Cebu BRT broke ground in 2023, and its first phase is nearing completion. That will include the Fuente, Cebu Normal University, and Cebu South Bus Terminal Stations, accommodating approximately 70,000 commuters.

Construction on phases two and three is targeted to be completed by 2028. When fully realized, the Cebu BRT will have a total of 13 stations with 62 stops, from end to end.
