The Love Bus is back in Metro Manila with a modern and fully electric 10-unit fleet. All those buses can transport about 600 commuters daily—and yes, rides are still free of charge.
Starting in October, however, the Love Bus will be charging regular commuters during off-peak hours, while all rides will remain free for senior citizens and PWDs. Those commuters will need to register on the incoming Love Bus app to avail themselves of free rides, but there is no word yet on when the app will be released. Students will be entitled to a 50% fare discount once those fees are implemented.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has assured that the Love Bus will still be free for all passengers during rush hour, from 6am to 9am, and from 5pm to 8pm.

As of this writing, the Love Bus currently operates from the Valenzuela Gate Complex (VGC) Terminal to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Batasan Hills, Quezon City. From there, it goes through the Batasan Hills Loop, while other buses go directly to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange from VGC.

It remains unclear how much fares will cost once the free rides end in October, especially as the DOTr plans to expand the Love Bus to more areas across the Philippines. Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez has adopted former Secretary Vince Dizon’s goal of launching the free bus system on a national scale before the end of 2025.
