The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has deployed its Traffic Engineering Center to remove the yellow lane markings on the leftmost northbound lane in the Ayala Tunnel.
The solid yellow line indicated that passing or crossing could be done with caution, but because that lane diverges from the EDSA Busway above, it ended up creating some confusion among motorists. The removal of the line means vehicles can now make use of all lanes in the tunnel.

This roadwork was likely prompted by the revival of the no-contact apprehension program, with motorists being more mindful of the lane markings so as not to incur any traffic violations. The first batch of tickets has already been sent out to vehicle registrants.
According to the MMDA, at least 4,100 tickets have been issued through NCAP since its revival on May 26, 2025. While NCAP is being implemented on major thoroughfares like EDSA and C5, MMDA traffic enforcers are still situated at various areas in Metro Manila that are both covered and not covered by NCAP cameras. The agency has also clarified that traffic tickets issued on the ground are also submitted to MMDA offices so as not to be issued again through NCAP.
