The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has announced that it will be sending ‘real-time’ SMS and email notifications to vehicle owners with hits from the no-contact apprehension program.
In this case, ‘real-time’ means that as soon as an NCAP violation has been manually verified and confirmed by an MMDA officer, the vehicle owner will be immediately notified so that they can quickly settle or dispute their violation. Official text notifications will be sent under ‘MMDA_NCAP,’ while emails will be sent from ‘no-reply@mmda.gov.ph.’

The MMDA is also encouraging vehicle owners and drivers to update their account information on the Land Transportation Management System. The mobile number and email address listed there will be used for NCAP notifications.

Agency chairman Atty. Romando Artes has acknowledged that this system may be susceptible to online scammers, so he is urging the public to be vigilant when inspecting NCAP notifications. From the sample text and email displayed by the MMDA, the notifications do not contain any payment links or ask for any kind of reply.
Rather, the notification prompts vehicle owners to check their NCAP violation on the mayhulika.mmda.gov.ph website. There, vehicle owners will need to input their plate number and MV file number to view their violation.
