As you may have heard by now, new bus routes in Metro Manila have just been added by the Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) under this general community quarantine. The agencies have also made it clear that even more routes will be added soon.
With this, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), one of the major transport terminals in the metro, has started making preparations as more PUVs hit the road again. The LTFRB conducted some preliminary inspections at the terminal earlier today.
As PITX management said in its previous advisory, it will be implementing several safety measures once it resumes operations. For one, signs have been put up around the terminal to remind commuters to follow the facility’s guidelines.
There are markers on the floor to aid the public in observing proper physical distancing. Meanwhile, all terminal personnel have been required to wear personal protective equipment, and hand sanitizers are now available around the PITX facilities.
By the looks of it, this facility is all set to accommodate commuters soon. Here’s hoping that these safety rules will be properly enforced and followed once the terminal reopens.
