There's just something about vintage cars that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Today, Grab Philippines offered us a ride around Bonifacio Global City in some timeless automobiles. We said yes, of course.
The good news is that you, too, can experience this.
The gimmick is part of the company's weekend-long Independence Day celebration. Basically, Grabbers are presented the opportunity to ride these classic cars absolutely free of charge. The vehicles will take passengers on a tour of the area, from today (June 10) until Sunday (June 12), from 3pm to 9pm.
All you have to do is show up at the Grab booth on 5th Avenue (High Street side), open the Grab app, select the special vintage Grab icon, input the same pick-up and drop-off points, and confirm your trip.
Our vehicle of choice was a vintage Chevrolet Bel Air. Hopping inside was like a hard shot of nostalgia straight to the gut--that huge steering wheel, bench seats, seeing the driver struggle without power steering. The experience was really something.
The whole trip must have taken all of 15 minutes. But if you're a car lover, it's well worth it. At the very least, you'll go home with a handful of Instagram-worthy shots and selfies. These cars are guaranteed scene-stealers.
If you happen to be in the area this weekend, you've definitely got to drop by. By the way, be sure to bring your parents or grandparents; these rides will definitely put a smile on their faces.
