If you’re looking for an opportunity to get into the world of motorsports, now’s your chance. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is kicking off the 2019 Vios Racing Festival with its Autocross Challenge on April 28, 2019, at the Mall of Asia Open Grounds.

The Autocross Challenge gives Toyota owners a chance to be part of the Vios Racing Festival action, and is being pitched by the Japanese carmaker as an amateur-friendly way to get into motorsports. It’s a timed competition where participants race through an obstacle course with the goal of finishing with the quickest lap time possible.

“In order to promote a more inclusive racing scene that fosters friendly competition, drivers from different backgrounds are invited: celebrities, social media influencers, car club members, new Vios owners, motoring journalists, and now even loyal Toyota patrons,” TMP said in a statement.

“This new format will be more amateur-friendly than a standard circuit race, where all participants are simultaneously racing against each other,” TMP added. “The adrenaline factor is retained through several mechanics that highlight driving precision: For example, every pylon hit adds two seconds on top of the racer’s final lap time.”
