Attention, Metro Manila point-to-point bus riders: You might be delighted to know that you can now pay your fares using Mastercard Tap & Go.
In a report by Manila Bulletin, commuters using the P2P service between UP Town Center and One Ayala can now use their Mastercard debit, credit, or prepaid card to tap and pay for their ride. This removes the hassle of having to reload a separate transport card or worrying about whether you have enough cash on hand.

This move was made through a partnership between Mastercard and bus operator Delta NeoSolutions (DNS) to adopt more open-loop payments. This means integrating your existing bank cards as a seamless mode of payment for commuting. It’s a trend we’re seeing in bus and train terminals all around the world.

Apart from your physical card, you can also use a digital wallet if you have an NFC-enabled Android phone.
The Tap & Go feature follows similar implementations seen in the MRT-3 and the Bonifacio Global City bus network. While this system is currently limited to the UP Town Center–One Ayala trips, DNS plans to integrate it into more of its P2P routes soon.
