Toyota Motor Philippines sold a record number of cars in October, company executive vice president Yuji Goto told TopGear.com.ph during a ride-and-drive event for the media in Baguio City. According to Goto, TMP moved 6,946 units last month. The company's previous monthly record was 6,258 units, set in July this year.
The executive also added that TMP is on track to sell more than 62,000 units for the year, another record. The company's current sales record for a 12-month period is 56,855 units, set in 2010. Last year, TMP sold "just" 54,593 units.
In fact, Goto said, "TMP is set to break its 2010 record in November."
As for the whole Philippine auto industry, TMP senior vice president Santos Guerrero revealed that they are expecting total sales to exceed 181,000 units.
