The Subaru Forester, a pioneer in the compact crossover segment since its 1997 debut, enters its sixth generation with the 2025 Forester e-Boxer, a Strong Hybrid model designed to meet modern consumer demands. This new generation builds upon the Forester’s legacy of reliability and versatility, now with a focus on enhanced efficiency, safety, and refinement.
Under the hood

The Forester e-Boxer Hybrid features a 2.5-liter gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, powered by a 1.1kWh self-charging battery. The system intelligently recharges the battery through regenerative braking and the engine itself, eliminating the need for plug-in charging. The gasoline engine delivers 162hp and 209Nm of torque, while the electric motors provide an additional 121hp, resulting in a combined output of 194hp and 270Nm of torque. This hybrid powertrain, managed by an updated Lineartronic transmission, offers a responsive, ‘e-turbo-like’ acceleration and a quiet, refined driving experience by seamlessly switching between hybrid and EV drive modes.
This efficiency, combined with a large 63-liter fuel tank, gives the new Forester an impressive driving range of up to 1,000km. For added comfort in stop-and-go traffic, a new electric compressor ensures the air-conditioning continues to run even when the engine is off.
All-weather confidence

Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) is retained without compromise. Paired with the new strong hybrid system, it continuously adjusts power in real time to maintain optimal traction and stability. Go-anywhere prowess is guaranteed with 220mm ground clearance and dual-function X-Mode for rough terrains. The Forester is built on an evolved Subaru Global Platform with a 10% improvement in chassis rigidity, providing superior steering and stability on any road.
Always keeping an eye on you

Safety is paramount in the new Forester, which features the enhanced EyeSight 4.0 driver-assist system. Now utilizing a wide-angle monocular camera, it has an improved ability to detect pedestrians and bicyclists. A new dedicated camera with facial recognition monitors the driver for signs of fatigue or inattention, while the innovative Emergency Driving Stop System can detect driver inactivity and safely bring the vehicle to a halt.
Additional safety features include a 360-degree multi-view monitor, LED cornering lamps for better visibility, and a comprehensive set of eight SRS airbags, which now includes a new passenger seat cushion airbag for enhanced frontal collision protection.
A refined and connected cabin

The cabin of the all-new Forester offers a modern and refined sanctuary with class-leading space. The seats, co-developed with a Japanese medical center, are ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue on long journeys, with the driver benefiting from a 10-way power-adjustable seat with lumbar support. At the heart of the dashboard is a large 11.6-inch full HD infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, paired with a premium 10-speaker and subwoofer Harmon/Kardon sound system.
The all-new Subaru Forester e-Boxer starts at P2.498 million and is now available for test drives.
