The Toyota Fortuner, the model that ushered in an era of midsize SUVs and one of the best-selling vehicles in the country, is now in its second-generation. The all-new model arrived early in 2016 looking to fill some pretty big shoes. So, did it deliver?

If we're going by looks, the answer is apparent the moment you set your sights on it. Muscular proportions, sleek head and taillights, a beefy front-fascia, nice chrome accents, and snazzy floating windows--it's a looker alright. The best design in its class? At the very least it's arguable.

All that momentum is carried over inside, too, where you're greeted by premium leather seats, a convenient AC system, intricate stitching all around, a nice, polished trim, and a feature-packed driver's seat with a meaty steering wheel, cruise control and a whole bunch of other goodies. The cabin is a nice place to sit in.
