A long time ago, BMW built a pickup concept that never made it into production. It was based on the E30 M3 from 1986. BMW eventually ended up with just one working prototype. Had things gone differently back then, we’d probably still be seeing a few of those Bimmer trucks on the road today.
At the 2022 SEMA show, however, US-based tuner DinMann took some pages off BMW’s old playbook to build a German truck of its own. This modern rendition of the E30 M3 pickup was based on a newer Bimmer—no less than the M4.

DinMann fondly calls it the M4 Maloo. I’m one among the team that likes weird cars, and while I’m not sure if this constitutes as ‘weird,’ I’m sure I like it. The design is on point and the fitment looks amazing, and yet the entire thing still looks like absolute insanity.

The car has not only been chopped up, but it’s also been fitted with a handful of modifications including a full exhaust system underneath along with bigger turbos and tons of carbon-fiber bits under the hood.

Now, you might be wondering what’s up with the sudden interest in a car that made its first public appearance years ago. Well, this masterpiece (or monstrosity, if you’re on the other side of the fence) is up for sale. DinMann has posted it on its social media channels with an asking price of $145,000. At the time of writing, that’s about P8.58 million in Filipino speak.
Frankly, that doesn’t sound too bad. You’d need to shell out more money to get an M2 Carbon here in our market. If you ask me, the custom truck looks like a better deal. What do you guys think?
