You’re essentially watching something with a lot of history get a new lease on life and a second chance to create new memories once more. Add a classic American car to the mix, and you get something that’ll bring a tear to a gearhead’s eye.

DIY Garage shows us just that in this video. When we first see the 1968 Ford Torino, it’s in pretty bad shape. The paint is faded, there’s rust all over, the seats are ripped to shreds, and the engine bay is covered in enough dust to make Queen want to bite it. The Torino in the video is powered by a 6.4-liter V8 mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The shop added some modern amenities, like four-wheel disc brakes and Dakota Digital gauges. The video is essentially a 23-minute picture slideshow, but if you love restorations, it’s worth a watch.
