Think long and hard about that ride you’re planning to sell. Ask yourself if you actually need to let go of it—and whether or not you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life if you do decide to hand away the keys.
We know, it sounds overdramatic. But there are stories similar, if not exactly the same, as this. We see it on social media and on YouTube: people letting go of beloved vehicles only to end up reuniting with them years later by their own hand or with the help of a loved one.
This short film entitled ‘The One That Almost Got Away’ by insurance agency Hagerty takes that idea and gives it a proper cinematic treatment—not all the hastily made vlogger stuff flooding the Internet. More important, it’s dedicated to all the cars we wish we never sold.
“It’s one of the great unifying experiences that automotive enthusiasts everywhere can commiserate over: ‘I never should have sold that car.’ That car we owned when we were young, wild, and free, before life forced our hand and we traded dreams for reality,” the video’s YouTube description reads.
“Equally as powerful? Finding that car for the loved one who first introduced us to life behind the wheel and bringing it back for them. This holiday season the story of one such gentleman who did just that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy.”
Can you relate? Tell us, what’s one car you wish you never sold?
