Few things can shake up our automotive market quite like a new seven-seater SUV. It's a competitive segment, and one that's closely followed and scrutinized by discerning buyers. So when the Honda BR-V landed on our shores late last year, we got lots of questions about what it's like to drive and if it was worth buying. We knew from experience that it's essentially a taller version of the Mobilio, but we were eager to find out more.

Honda Cars Philippines recently lent us the base S CVT variant of the BR-V for a test drive. The positives we found include sprightly handling, a surprisingly roomy interior, and a sporty look that grew on us over time. The ride is comfortable; only big potholes and bumps illicited reactions out of us. The 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine, which sports 118hp and 145Nm, is adequate for city and occasional highway jaunts.

Click play on the video above to learn more about Honda's all-new SUV. Starting at P989,000, do you guys think the Honda BR-V is worth the money?
