Classic Fords go under the hammer

World class automotive specialists Silverstone Auctions has unveiled its list of lots for the annual September Sale—with legendary Fords taking the center stage. Here are some fine examples.

This 2006 Ford GT, which is one of just 27 UK-delivered examples, with less than 10,000km on the clock. With a hand-built, 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine and 550hp, a top speed of 330kph is easy, as is a 0-97kph speed of just 3.5 seconds.

This one is the epitome of Ford GT cool—white with blue stripes—and gets an estimate of over a quarter of a million pounds (P17 million). The Ford GT has never been not-cool, and this 12-year-old example promises to appreciate in value for a long time coming.

This Escort is one of the few remaining RS1600 examples on the road and gets a complete ground-up restoration. Only around 1,100 examples were produced in total, many of which were converted into rally cars, with this model being the one that really put Ford on the map, winning World Championship events from 1968. In Le Mans green with black interior, this lot expects the hammer to hit at £60,000 - £70,000 (P4.1 - 4.8 million).
