When someone says Philippine Loop, motorcycle riding is usually what comes to mind. Fair enough, because riding is exactly what it’s for. But what’s stopping anyone from completing the loop on four wheels, right?
For Jec Zshornack and the group behind the Philippine Overland Exploration Loop, well, nothing. Jec is known in the car camping community for his overlanding vlogs under his channel Jec Episodes. For this new adventure, he’ll attempt to complete the Philippine Loop in 42 days using a 4x4 rig.

That’s no easy feat, as the loop spans more than 8,000km and includes over 80 inter-island destinations. It’s tricky enough to lug around a motorcycle on such a journey—all the more a bulky camp-ready SUV.
But that’s the thing, though—unlike with a motorcycle, an overlanding rig gives you the luxury of stopping anywhere at anytime to rest or even camp for the night.

Jec will be joined by local overlanders Denmark Dolores (Mr. Everywhere), Jeric Alberto (Blake Episodes), and Marc Pateña (Tatay Chubs). The entire crew will be bringing their own 4x4 vehicles for this expedition, and they’ve all been equipped with gear, accessories, and parts from Nitto Tire Philippines, Overland Kings, Method Race Wheels Philippines, TotalHitch, TrailGecko, Ohlins Philippines, Index Automotive Batteries PH, and ELF Brand by YHI Philippines.
Jec and his company will be sharing their journey real-time through social media, and they’ll also be releasing a six-part ‘cinevlog’ series that will premiere on the Jec Episodes YouTube channel.
Frankly, this sounds absolutely tiring, but it’ll surely be all sorts of fun and will be satisfying to complete. Good luck, overlanders!
