Coming across any Lancer Evolution unit out in the wild is worth shedding a tear or two over. Being presented the chance to own a 1-of-30 unit? It just doesn’t happen.
But hey, here we are with your eyes watery over this ultra-rare 1-of-30 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI RSX that’s currently available for purchase online. Only we aren’t just crying over this opportunity—we’re crying because we don’t have the £45,000 (around P3.17 million) necessary to make this dream a reality.
The unit has a little over 85,000km on its odometer and was previously owned by Ralliart UK founder Jon Kirkham. Some upgrades have been made, including an HKS exhaust system and Evo 7 wheels, but there’s no mention of any changes made to the original 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
With no anti-lock brakes or anti-yaw control, plated differentials, Recaro seats, and an upgraded steering rack, the RSX was intended to be a performance beast thanks to its significantly reduced weight (about 80kg less, according to its seller Rally Replay) when it was released in 1999. Of the 30 units made, only 10 came in silver, which makes this thing that much rarer.
If you have the means to bite on this deal, by all means, you should do so. Though if you reside in the Philippines, getting the unit within our borders presents an entirely different set of issues altogether. Worth the hassle of having to deal with customs, you think?
