Quick, name a pickup that's on the market right now. Great, now name another. Okay, so we're willing to put money down that the Mitsubishi Strada didn't spring to mind right away the first time. Or even the second, for that matter. Yes, Mitsu's pickup still lags behind front-runners like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux in terms of name recall and market share.

That's too bad, really. After a few days with the 2WD Strada, we found it to be quite the capable everyday performer. The truck bed comes with rubber lining as standard, the interior is nicely laid out with lots of room, and we're actually fond of its oft-criticized grille. Under its hood is a new and robust 2.4-liter turbodiesel mill. Just watch where you put your right foot.
