Yes, this thing has clearly seen better days. This 1966 Ford Mustang pickup conversion is rusty, pretty beat-up, and will likely be considered by many of you to be an automotive abomination. It also recently sold for $15,000 (P760,000) on BringATrailer.com, so ha!

You read that right. Somebody threw a good amount of money for the pleasure of owning this pony truck. No word on when this thing had a chunk of its roof chopped off, but its seller acquired the unit just earlier in 2021.

Performance details are scarce. All we know is that this pickup runs on a 4.7-liter V8 engine with a ‘Cobra’ air-intake lid mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. It’s also had a ton of mechanical components replaced since it made its way to its seller.

There are plenty of rough patches to sort out here. The paint out back is peeling, and the rest of the vehicle is covered in dings and scratches. And as we said, there’s also plenty of rust that the new owner will have to deal with. The listing even points out that this ride’s exhaust system now has visible holes and its underbody is corroded. Yikes.

The interior is ever so slightly more pleasant than the exterior suggests. Here you’ll find a clean wooden three-spoke steering wheel, seats trimmed with black vinyl, and a retro AM radio that doesn’t function. Note, however, that portions of the dashboard and back panel are missing.

Like we said, this thing is rough. Should make for a fun albeit time-consuming restoration project for whoever landed this truck, though. So, what’s your take on this? Travesty or creativity?
