Spec-sheet brawl: Mitsubishi Xpander vs. Toyota Rush

Comparing stylish seven-seaters
by Jason Tulio | Jan 8, 2018

If you're a regular TGP reader, then you should be pretty familiar with our spec-sheet brawl infographics where we pit two vehicles similar in price and specs in a public battle for vehicular supremacy. This one, though, is a little different. We can't say whether these two are similar in price, at least not in our currency. That's because neither of them have made it to the Philippines yet.

The Mitsubishi Xpander and all-new Toyota Rush were both launched in Indonesia last year. Though Mitsubishi calls the Xpander an MPV and Toyota says that the Rush is an SUV, these two (at least on paper) meet somewhere in the middle. They have quite a lot in common: Both run on 1.5-liter gasoline engines, put out similar power and torque figures, and have room for seven people. In this fight, we've put the top-of-the-line Indonesian-spec variants to the test.

Check out the tale of the tape below and choose your winner. Do you want to see the Xpander and Rush face off on our streets?
