Exclusive: What's it like behind the wheel of the all-new Subaru XV?

Earlier this year, we got word from Singapore that the all-new Subaru XV would be arriving in the Philippines in 2017. We liked the first one that came out in 2012, so we were eager to see what Subaru had in store for the second act. Fast forward some months, and we were the lucky ones chosen by local distributor Motor Image Pilipinas to get first dibs behind the wheel before its launch in September.

At first glance, the similar body shape to the first-gen XV might make you think that this is merely an overstated facelift. But you'd be wrong, because this crossover improves in areas that are invisible to the naked eye. It's built on the new Subaru Global Platform, which claims 70% more rigidity. Thankfully, we got the chance to try it out during our August issue cover shoot in Pradera Verde. Naturally, it's powered by Subie's trademark boxer engine.
