The Suzuki e-Vitara is the Japanese brand’s first shot at building a BEV after plenty of mild-hybrid offerings in its lineup. After plenty of waiting since its global reveal back in 2024, Suzuki finally launched it at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show.

According to Suzuki, the e-Vitara represents “the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility while staying true to its heritage of creating smart, reliable, and practical vehicles for everyday driving.” Let’s get into the details of the new Japanese EV on the block, shall we?

Price of the 2026 Suzuki e-Vitara

Let’s get this out of the way first: the Suzuki e-Vitara is priced at P2,020,000. That puts it at the top of the brand’s price stack by a significant margin. That spot was previously held by the five-door Jimny GLX AT Rhino Two Tone at P1,749,00.

To further contextualize, that Jimny is an extended model with all the bells and whistles, topped off with a cosmetic package. But we digress. With a single price (and spec line) provided, it can be inferred that the e-Vitara will be offered in a single variant.

Exterior of the 2026 Suzuki e-Vitara

The e-Vitara’s front fascia looks positively aggressive, and it makes the Toyota Urban Cruiser (its twin model built on the same platform) look more like an unimpressed frown. It’s fitting, then, that its design language is what Suzuki calls the ‘Metal Beast.’ The ‘three-point matrix LED’ motif found on both front and rear lamps are also visually distinctive.

Its sides and rear are more closely identical to the Urban Cruiser, but the muscular proportions complement the front clip. The e-Vitara also measures in at 4,275mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,635mm tall, about average for the compact crossover class. For color options, the full range of choices is yet to be revealed but we can expect the military green featured prominently in photos to be among those options.

Powertrain specs of the 2026 Suzuki e-Vitara

Suzuki used its new ‘Heartect-e’ platform on the e-Vitara, a purpose-built architecture for battery electric vehicles. Inside, it packs a 61kWh LFP battery mated to an electric motor rated at 172hp and 193Nm of torque.

This setup nets about 475km of range, per Suzuki claims. In real world testing conducted with the Automobile Association Philippines, the e-Vitara was able to record efficiency numbers of 87.22km/Lge (kilometers per liter, gasoline equivalent) or 9.8km/kWh.

Interior of the 2026 Suzuki e-Vitara

The inside of the e-Vitara may be familiar if you’ve stepped inside the Toyota Urban Cruiser’s cabin. Well, more than familiar—the interior is identical for the twins. Again, it comes back to the shared platform business going on between the models.

Soft-touch materials are found on the dashboard, complemented by customizable ambient lighting. The seats are also wrapped in three-tone leather. Up front, ventilated seating is available, while the driver also gets 10-way power adjustment. Rear seats are 40/20/40 split folding for flexible cargo expansion as well.

The two-spoke steering wheel also has a peculiar “squircle” shape for ergonomics. The flattened bottom half helps with ingress and egress, while the squat top half helps prevent the wheel from blocking the driver’s view of the road.

Extra features of the 2026 Suzuki e-Vitara

For safety, the e-Vitara comes equipped with Suzuki Safety Sense, the brand’s own ADAS suite. A full load of airbags is also equipped: front, side, curtain, and at the knee. Other tech includes a 360-degree camera, as well as parking sensors both at the front and rear.

The e-Vitara also has a premium six-speaker sound system care of Infinity, which works in tandem with the 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
