Fun fact: There’s a world record for the largest collection of Transformers toys

Holidays sure do give you a lot of free time, don’t they? During one of our recent idle moments sometime between Christmas and New Year, we stumbled upon this story that should prove pretty fascinating for you gearheads.

There are fans, and then there are guys like Louis Georgiou. The man loves the Transformers franchise so much so that he actually set a world record around his fandom. Check it out:

Back in 2017, the UK-based toy collector set the official Guinness world record for the most number of Transformers memorabilia with 2,111 items. Story goes that the hobby began when he would buy toys for his son. The collection grew so big until one day, he decided to hit up Guinness to register for the world record. Wow. Just one question: At what point when passively buying toys for your son do you realize, “Hey, I’ve bought so much of this stuff that it’s taken up most of the house, it’s probably a world record!”

Seriously, though, it’s pretty impressive to amass a collection this big. We can only imagine how much bigger his stash has gotten since he claimed the record two years ago.
