Watch the all-new Nissan X-Trail in action

First unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the third-generation Nissan X-Trail has arrived on our shores. Thanks to Nissan Philippines, interested buyers may troop to the nearest Nissan dealer in November to make a purchase.

Compact SUV buyers have a choice between the 4x2 and 4x4 variants of the new X-Trail, which was built and assembled in the Japanese carmaker's Kyushu plant.

The 4x2 variant, which is powered by an MR20DD 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine, has 142hp and 200Nm. Under the hood of the 4x4 variant, meanwhile, is a different engine: the QR25DE 2.5-liter four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine rated at 169hp and 233Nm. Both engines are mated to Nissan's latest Xtronic transmission.

Pleased with these power figures? Before you book a test drive, watch our consumer editor Botchi Santos drive Nissan's newest baby for our cover shoot. Enjoy!
