What do you do when you’re a big multinational retail chain and you want to promote your online ordering service? In Walmart’s case, the company decided that the natural course of action would be to combine some of the most famous movie cars in history into a one-minute ad whose budget likely exceeds its perceived scale. But of course.
The American company put together the ad above featuring some of the most memorable cars to ever grace the big screen. There’s Ben Affleck’s Batmobile, the DeLorean from the Back to the Future series, Bumblebee of Transformers fame, and even the shaggy van from Dumb and Dumber. The one thing all these cars have in common, apparently, is that their drivers all order their groceries online from Walmart, for pickup at a Walmart store. Hey, even the Batcave’s fridge needs to be restocked, right?
What we’re most impressed with is the fact that Walmart was able to secure all the rights to feature these cars. Hollywood studios are notorious for being fussy over their rights to fictional entities, so it was cool to see this little crossover happen even if it was for the sake of Walmart’s marketing.
