Imagine you find your dream car up for sale. One you’ve dreamed of owning ever since you were a kid. One that’s fast, flashy, and widely considered to be the stuff of legend. Hell, its development even included input from a Formula 1 GOAT. Oh, and it’s actually affordable! Sounds too good to be true, right?

That last bit, in this case, is a matter of opinion depending on how dedicated one is to restoration. Pictured above is a first-gen NSX, Honda’s ’90s magnum opus. You know, the car that Ayrton Senna was consulted for? If you need a refresher on the car and its capabilities, here’s the man himself pushing it to its limits around Suzuka Circuit while wearing loafers.
The catch? This car has been stuck underwater for 15 years. Motor1 reports that this was unearthed in a river in North Carolina back in 2019 in an unrelated missing persons investigation and stored at a place called LSX Salvage. Makes you wonder if the car was found with a recording from a disgruntled fan addressed to a certain rapper. Ugh, moving on...
The car has obviously seen better days. Aside from the visible rust, there is damage to the frame, sand and debris inside the cabin, and the front fascia is an absolute disaster.
Still, it seems someone out there has found some use for this NSX. The unit in question has already been sold for $8,500 (around P463,000) with apparent hopes for restoration. That’s an ambitious plan, but one that we can only hope will be successful.
