American toymaker Mattel recently gave both gamers and car nuts a treat, after the company revealed it had partnered with Japanese video game giant Nintendo to produce a new collection of Mario-inspired cars for the Hot Wheels toy line. Sweet.
The announcement was made via the Hot Wheels official Twitter page with a short video reveal. Six characters from the world-famous video game were transformed into Hot Wheels vehicles: Princess Peach, Bowser, Toad, Yoshi, Lugi, and of course, everyone's favorite Italian plumber, Mario.
It looks like the main thing the new Mario collection has going revolves around the beloved characters' head gear. The Mario and Luigi cars sport the duo's iconic red and green hats with the M and L, the same goes for Yoshi's white and red mushroom cap, Bowser's spiky red hair, and even Princess Peach's blonde locks. Whether you're a fan of Hot Wheels or the video game, these are definitely toys worth adding to your collection.
Mario has been a bit of a hot topic as of late. The original 8-bit Italian made waves after being featured in the Olympic turnover ceremony during the recently held 2016 Rio games. This probably won't be the last time Hot Wheels and Nintendo will collaborate, so we're looking forward to seeing more of our favorite video game characters in the Hot Wheels lineup.
