Apple has just unveiled its latest laptop in the all-new MacBook Neo. Starting at just P39,990, it impressively lowers the entry point into the brand’s line of compact computers. For context, before the Neo, the most affordable laptop Apple had on offer was the P72,990 MacBook Air M5.
So what exactly do you get for a hair under P40,000? Well, it’s fairly straightforward. A 13-inch Liquid Retina display, a Magic Keyboard, and 256GB of storage wrapped in an aluminum shell. It comes in four quirky colors—namely, Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo.

Interestingly, this MacBook strays away from Apple’s M chips and instead utilizes the A18 Pro chip. This was previously used on the iPhone 16, but the brand claims users can still get decent performance from it.

Apple Intelligence and iPhone Mirroring should work smoothly, while battery life is rated at 16 hours. While it uses an iPhone’s processor, the Neo has MacOS onboard, and Apple has ensured that free software updates will be available.

The cherries on top? A 1080p FaceTime camera, two USB-C ports, and a dual speaker and microphone system for improved audio input and output. TouchID is also available, but only on the more expensive configuration. That one will cost P46,990, but storage has also been bumped up to 512GB. However, unified memory stays at 8GB across both versions.
There is still no word on when the Neo will officially arrive in the Philippines, but we will likely see it before the end of the year.
