Well, here’s news we didn’t think we’d ever end up writing. Call of Duty—yes, one of the biggest video game franchises on the planet—is jumping into the realm of motorsport.
The title isn’t turning into a racing simulator, though. Instead, it will feature one of Formula 1’s most iconic locales in its next installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
The Marina Bay Grand Prix looks like it will be included in Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer map lineup. Well, a generic version of it at least. It’s obvious from the trailer that Activision, the game’s publisher either couldn’t afford or wasn’t willing to shell out the dough necessary to feature real-life branding and Formula 1 teams in the map.

The trailer for the map does show off some pretty neat details, though. There’s a Ferris wheel, race cars on display, and knock-off energy drink advertising.
We can imagine it now—launching guided missile strikes with an actual race taking place on the track. Perhaps here Ferrari will have a valid excuse for its screwed-up strategy.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will hit the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC on October 28. Excited?
