We recently took a few days off our busy magazine life to enjoy driving and riding the third-generation Honda City. Check out this photo blog and be enticed to go on last-minute summer road trip.
My road trip buddies, Top Gear Philippines art director Jaykee Evangelista (left) and columnist Al Mendoza (right), take turns in driving the third-generation Honda City introduced in the Philippine market as we head to a midweek escapade east of Metro Manila.

Road trips are not complete without food! Check out the sumptuous meal we enjoyed for lunch at Ugu Bigyan Potter's Garden in Tiaong, Quezon! It was my first time to try kulawo (bottom right), which tastes like meat even though it's made of banana heart and coconut cream.

Ceramics artist Ugu Bigyan makes it look like pottery is so easy. He was even chatting with us while he turned a lump of clay into a pitcher.

We pause for a while to take photos of our rides. Awesome automobiles need memorable photographs, too! We take the 1.5-liter Tafetta White Honda City from Manila all the way to Quezon and Rizal, and the 1.3-liter variant in Alabaster Silver going back to Manila.

Our weary bodies need rest! We head to Thunderbird Resort in Rizal for a gastronomic delight while we stare at this pool.
And we're off again! The Honda city really proved its worth during the demanding uphill climbs in Rizal.
Three days worth of driving fun with three fantastic Honda City units! That includes this adventure inside a cave leading to the the famous Angono Petroglyphs that dates to as far back as 3000 B.C.
