With more people embracing cycling for leisure and daily commuting, it’s good to know where different bike shops are located around Metro Manila in case you’re shopping for a new ride or are in need of tune-ups, bike parts, or accessories.
For our neighborhood bike shop series on Top Gear Philippines, we previously featured Built Cycles QC as a go-to bike shop for cyclists based in Quezon City. Their shop along Kalayaan Avenue is one of the spots we personally go to for tune-ups or if we’re in the market for specific bike parts.

For Makati City folk, Built Cycles also has a branch on Kalayaan Avenue near Brgy. Poblacion and Rockwell that offers a more convenient location for cyclists residing or working in this busy financial and business district in Metro Manila.

While many establishments in Makati remain car-centric, Built Cycles has that friendly, inviting neighborhood feel for those who prefer traveling on two wheels. Not surprisingly, the shop is said to be built for and by cyclists. The colorful murals outside the shop provide a great backdrop for rides, while bike racks outside provide a handy place to park.

Whether you’re building your dream gravel bike, upgrading a city commuter, preparing for your next long-distance bikepacking trip, or need a meet-up spot to socialize with friends as part of your weekend rides, Built Cycles is a good option.
Cyclists can get tune-ups done, browse through quality equipment, see thoughtful bike builds, shop for bike essentials, and even grab a cold drink while waiting.
Where is Built Cycles Makati?

Built Cycles Makati is located at 8485 Kalayaan Avenue (near the corner of Don Pedro Street), near the Poblacion area. It’s a few blocks from the main Makati Avenue intersection.
If you’re transporting bikes by car, there are a few parking slots right in front of the shop, along with bike racks. However, be warned that finding a place to park in Poblacion can be notoriously tricky, especially on weekdays.
What type of bike services do they provide?

Cyclists who have a dream build in mind or are in the market for parts can drop by their store to consult about specific bike setups. The shop is open daily for bike services and gear inquiries.
Built Cycles Makati also provides typical bike maintenance services like bike wash and tune-ups, full bicycle assembly, quality bike parts sourcing, and premium tools. Their experienced staff and trusted mechanics are on hand to take care of your bike needs.
While their online shop has made cycling components easier to find and purchase, sometimes one size doesn’t fit all bikes. If you’re looking for something specific, it helps to see the frame sizing, fit adjustments, ensure compatibility between components, and get expert guidance from mechanics in a physical store.

For those who prefer to get custom builds done, independent shops like Built Cycles can help you combine premium products with technical expertise and real-world riding experience. Assembled bikes share floor space with boutique components, premium wheelsets, handcrafted frames, and shelves of cycling essentials that will appeal to serious riders.
So if you happen to be in the area, you can swing by to browse around their wide range of bikes, bike parts, and accessories for all your cycling needs.
Bike-friendly coffee shops in Poblacion

Built Cycles has a small counter where you can sit, rest, browse through bike magazines, or grab cold drinks like Gatorade, Pocari Sweat, water, or cold brew coffee to power up before heading home or while waiting for your bikes to get serviced.
But if you’re visiting Poblacion by bike, you might as well have a snack or coffee in one of the nearby spots. There are a few cafes that cater to cyclists with bike parking you can head to after visiting the bike shop.
Good Sh*t Coffee, located on Enriquez Street, is a café with clearly visible bike racks and al fresco seating for those who want to lounge, enjoy coffee, refreshing specialty drinks, or grab some pastries.

Annex House, tucked away on Don Pedro Street, has an enclosed, laid-back courtyard with a gate that offers a secure spot to park and watch your bike while enjoying good coffee. Solid Ground Coffee House, situated on Escuela Street (right across the Poblacion Marketplace), is another laid-back spot that features an easy-access facade and dedicated bike parking.
Pro-tip: Because Poblacion gets quite busy, and streets are tight, it’s always a good practice to bring a sturdy lock to secure your bicycle or find a place to eat where you can keep an eye on your bike.
