We’ve waited a long while for it, but Honda Philippines finally made it happen: It finally launched the all-new Honda Giorno+ in our market. At long last, Honda has a retro scooter worthy of replacing the Scoopy.
We’re sure a lot of you waiting for a review of it, but we reckon we won’t be able to get our hands on a unit of the Giorno+ soon. While we wait, we have the next best thing: A spec-sheet comparo. Against which bike, you might ask? None other than the Yamaha Mio Fazzio, of course.
The Mio Fazzio has established itself as one of the more desirable scooters in our market since its arrival back in mid-2022. It’s already been updated with new colors and a bigger price tag, but its following has remained unchanged. In this article, we’ll take a look at how the Honda Giorno+ stacks up against Yamaha Motor Philippines’ fan favorite.

Both of these scooters have 125cc single-cylinder engines. The difference is that on one hand, we have a liquid-cooled, four-valve powertrain on the Giorno+ and an air-cooled, two-valve unit with a power-assist function on the Mio Fazzio. Even with the electric assist on the Yamaha, the Honda pulls ahead in terms of power output with 11.39hp and 11.6Nm of torque. The Mio Fazzio only puts out 8.29hp and 10.6Nm.
Across the board, it’s mostly similar. Both scooters have 12-inch wheels with similarly sized tires, neither have ABS and both have a front disc brake with ar ear drum brake. The Giorno+ has a slightly bigger fuel tank at 5.4 liters, but it’s only 0.3 liters more than the Mio Fazzio’s.
The Giorno+ is also longer and taller than the Mio Fazzio while being slightly narrower in build. The Giorno+ also has a higher seat at 780mm or 30.7 inches compared to the Mio Fazzio’s 750mm/29.5-inch seat. That’s something beginners and shorter riders will take into consideration, so they might lean towards the latter.
The biggest difference between these two is in pricing. The Honda Giorno+ goes for P101,900, significantly more than the P93,900 tag on the Yamaha Mio Fazzio. Is that P8,000 price difference enough to convince customers to go for the Mio Fazzio, or is it something fans of the Giorno+ are willing to overlook? You tell us. You can check out more specs and details of these two scooters below. Afterwards, take a pick and answer the poll. Share your thoughts in the comments section, too, while you’re at it.
